It is indeed, but that has no place in connection with the IFA or NI fans and supposed "minor incidents" outside the last Scottish game. Ffs factual!

In terms of unionist outreach, Martin McGuinness has stated he would go to Windsor Park to see the six county international soccer team.

First Peter Robinson going to GAA and now this, it feels as though outreach is developing. Both men are to be commended for statesmanshiplike behaviour. They understand that First Ministers is not a party position, they are First Ministers for all the people. Last year, Sinn Fein Culture Minister Caral Ni Chuilin became the first high-profile member to go to a match at Windsor.

At the pace this outreach lark is progressing I can see something like this at the William Street/Waterloo Place junction in Derry next summer..............

Was it not you who was talking about "the fights in Dublin between Northern Ireland and Scottish fans"?

But I will say this, it is possible for MMG to attend a "six county soccer side" (call it what it is FFS!) and not cheer for the bastards! I watched the league cup final at the weekend. Didn't mean I supported a particular team. Just like watching footy is all.
(bolding added) That's especially where I wind up regarding soccer. I absolutely love sports and especially soccer. I watch and even attend international matches all the time if I can get my hands on tickets and it's around wherever I am. Take the summer period where I was in the States and they had the CONCACAF Gold Cup being played. Not only did I watch the US team, I got hold of tickets to the other matches played in my area with whom I have no connection. In fact, sometimes watching those kinds of matches have more soccer fun and less gnashing of teeth because I'm there for the craic and observation without a stake in the match. I've done this at World Cups too and seen some great matches in a few of them. I even managed to get Pelé to autograph my WC ticket at halftime at the Norway-Mexico match in 1994 as he was announcing for television a few rows behind me and it's a prized possession today for me.

It is not connected of course to IFA in any way and I hope you know I would not attempt to make or suggest any connection.

It just has a connection to football, and a real disgrace and very sad indeed.
