However this debate is purely about the ideas of Max Weber.
Nietzsche philosophy is predicated on self-hatred and chauvinism (much like ex celt's deranged ramblings). Nietzsche hated women and the weak, mostly because he was a sickly recluse himself who never had female contact outside of his sister. He died in the late 1800s after going mad.

The link back to the likes of Fichte and other romantics seems persuasive, along with a twisted interpretation of scientific Darwinism, but I don't think anyone can legitimately argue that the effects of Nietzsche's philosophy were anything other than bad. As for Weber's theory, as you mentioned, it has been thoroughly disproved with the passage of time. Isn't a large proportion of the Scottish economy reliant on the public service in any case?

I hate the way people pick on Ex Celt just because his view is abit different. Funnily enough I agree with Ex Celt that Protestants are work shy.

I totally agree with you ex celt. Catholics work and Protestants don't. Especially the Monarchy. Why is it so hard for these Shinners to accept this fact?

UK trident will have to be scrapped in 2014 with the end of the Union. Loving it.
