Bad Craic for her. Nothing like this should be tolerated. UTV have entered the world of tabloid this last few years though.

Watched this on the 10.30 UTV news. Shocking stuff.

Sectarian comments also made in the presence of Line managers within the Belfast trust and zero action.

Fair play to Laurena kane, spends her days helping kids & their families deal with the horror of infant cancer and big enough to fight her corner.

I am not in favour of any bullying the workplace.I am very surprised that this was allowed to continue , also , as Protestants are usually in the minority in public sector organisations I was , also , surprised that it was an RC getting abuse .Management failure and that needs addressed as do those doing the bullying.

It is disgraceful that this happened in a caring profession - one wonders if the perpetrators are able to do their jobs

One wonders if they have their jobs?

    I wouldn't be surprised.

I'm often sceptical with good reason for a lot of claims which are often just for claims sake. However from what has been presented, this lady deserves credit for going through a rigourous process that must have been personally challenging and just hordendous. I don't think this clip tells the whole story of what her life must have been like especially through the tribunal.

"I hate Catholics" is some line for a person to say. Who the f&&k thinks to even say stuff like that never mind to / in front of a colleague? Bullies are bullies the world over and that sort of thing needs stamped out.

Fair play to Lorena, she's done everyone in NI a favour by having the backbone to see this through. Thank you.

They could always take a massive redundancy payment and re-apply for their jobs next week.

While I welcome the justice achieved by the person on the end of this bigotry there are a few disturbing elements to this whole case.
The people who carried out the sectarian baiting were not the subject of any disciplinary action by the trust who employed them. An explanation should be sought from this board.
Where is the trade union movement in all of this? I certainly have not heard a peep from the people who are in place to secure the rights of individual workers. In fact it is hard to find a reference from the trade union movement in any such cases.

The most disappointing feature of this case is that the perpetrators were meant to be 'professional' people in a role that brings them into contact with vulnerable people. It is a blight on this society that sectarianism and bigotry continue to haunt the workplace.

The unions in the North have probably the same mindset as their counterparts in the Republic ie. both bullied and bully are menbers of the same union and the result is that the union runs away from the problem.
