Of course the laughable thing was this 'personal' letter was the same for each individual and the even more laughable thing was the personal letter was copied from a SF press release from four year earlier...outreach and moving on my arse.
Aye the letter thing was cringeworthy, write your own letter for fec sake! It's not that hard..
The issue of whether SF manufacture objection to parades is one where we would disagree (surprise surprise!). You're right that the vast majority of unionist/loyalist parades are of no concern to nationalists and sinn fein. But when they do impact negatively on nationalist communities and there's no dialogue to minimise this - then I do expect my elected reps to object strongly. That they do this following the legal procedures and without wrecking the place is important to me also. I note that in places like Ardoyne it was Sinn Fein who were scathing of the illegal protests and the riots that followed in their wake and the party worked hard across north Belfast to minimise the potential for trouble aroiund parades.

I respect your view that the shinners are creating these difficulties around parades and thus damaging community relations for their own ends. But maybe if your definition of good community relations involves republicans not objecting to parades that their voters find ofensive then thats a bit unrealistic? Personally I want my representatives to at least attempt to curb those parades that are to the detriment of nationalist communities.

Anyway I realise I asked you and CR questions and then pretty much peed off for a while - v busy these days, don't you hate in when life/work/family/debt gets in the way dickin about on t'internet.

Gweedo, the issue of hate filled, coat trailing orangemen marching where they are unwelcome will never be resolved, even when Ireland is reunited shortly.

Blaming political parties is a no-no sir, dialogue between the marchers and local residents is the key to the resolution sir.

And when dialogue like that which has been going on around the Ardoyne shops for the past 6 years starts to make progress, other republican factions step in to take up the violent protest. These groups complain that the mainstream republican representatives aren't representative and don't talk to them, let alone the OO. So, what then?

Cliches are two-a-penny. Was a constructive response of substance was too much to expect? Or did you simply miss the "what next" question?
