    Wave of Car-Jackings Hits Belfast

UTV News - Carjackers strike twice in city

There were two more car-jackings in Belfast today bringing the number in the last two weeks to ten. It seems women driving alone are the favoured targets. A number of people have been assaulted by the car-thieves who demand keys before driving off towards the west of the city where they destroy the stolen cars.

This is a very worrying trend and needs to be treated with utmost seriousness by police and courts.

Let's hope that they treat it more seriously than in the area's this scum seem to come from.

I've been wondering if this is the precedent to effectual prosecutions.

Some scrawny wee spidey sh1te wannabe-hardman tried this on a female relative of mine a while ago, but she was sensible enough to have kept her car doors locked. Best to advise family and friends to keep the doors locked if driving around the city.

This is very sensible advice and the best precaution against car jackers. These sorts of lowlifes usually pick on what they see as easy targets, unfortunately.

This will be really worrying for lone female drivers around Belfast. I hope the police get these scum. Im ashamed but if I'm honest I'd love a few of these scummy tramps to not notice a big husband in the passenger seat who happily stoves their low life heads in.

Do they not have CCTV in Belfast city centre with 24 hour operators ? Know they cannot cover all areas but mobile cameras called Domehawks can be deployed at key locations for evidence gathering purposes.Bring back the B men ?
