Well I was only trying to bait the plastic,I wasn't really thinking deeply about the finer points.However for the sake of discussion ,and never doubting "800 years of oppression",let's say that the first major "British" invasion of Ireland was 1169.Followed 450 years or so later by any meaningful invasion of America.

I dont think it can be doubted seriously that the "evil Brits" did actually do evil things in Ireland but I dont see how these things can be laid on the Ulster Scots who were not responsible for them. And especially not on Ulster Scots of today who were not even alive than.

Given that Northern Ireland will decide it's own future it would be more reasonable for them to have one in each constituency in the place that actual matters. How an "inclusive event" matters in Kerry is anyone's guess.

Surely you can see why it's important to have the 26 on board? If they can build up a bit of excitement, and maybe even some votes while they're at it, I don't think they'd turn it down. I'm sure they're dying to show contrast this sort of effort with the narrative that FF/FG/Labour have given up Ireland's sovereignty.

I agree it's a stunt. It's another unachievable republican action designed to increase power for those involved.
