    Im just sick of it...

Firstly I want to apologise in advance for my rant.

Im sick and tired of people, not just on this site, but members of these continuity organisations preaching to people like me about surrendering to the British Crown. Particularly those who dont live up here or have never experienced living up here for any length of time.

Ive made my past known on this site before, Im proud of many of my fellow volunteers for the sacrifices they made for us. However, we cannot go back to the ways of the past.

Sectarianism on both sides has ripped our communities apart, ghetto'ised parts of our cities and towns. I grew up in a city where I experienced the full force of British rule, but we have to learn from the past to help us in the future.

While I hold the hopes of a UI firmly in my heart, my head sees this as an oppurtunity for the whole community to address the issues of today. Water rates, taxation, healthcare, education....these are the things that will directly affect our childrens lives. We have a chance now to make a difference for ourselves.

I commend you Iain Paisley.....many of our beliefs are poles apart but for once you have stepped out from behind the cowardly FP collar and made the right decision for all.

ldw. Unfortunatly this thread will fall on deaf ears. You are so right and I commend you on your very honest statement, which you have no need to apologise for. Very shortly you will have posters like Cael coming on calling you a traitor ect ect, blah, blah. I hope, ldw that you know that you are a far more decent person than the whole lot of those put together.
