Republican unity meeting in Derry, Saturday May 12th

"The Ex-POW's and Concerned Republicans Group in conjunction with the IRSM and 32CSM will be holding a conference which is planned for Saturday 12th May. This is to be held in the AOH hall in Foyle street, Derry at 2pm. The Agenda will be one of unifying Republicans and all groups are invited to attend.

Former MLA John Kelly will chair the meeting with Brendan Hughes in attendance. We hope to have Bernadette Devlin/Mc Alliskey,Tommy Mc Kearney as well as a couple of other high profile speakers. We would ask all Republicans to get behind this project and pass the message on to as many of your friends/comrades as possible to maximise the turnout."

This was also covered in The Sunday Tribune this week but they haven't posted an online version of the story. They claim that some RSF members will also be there "in a personal capacity."

Should be interesting. Best of luck to all concerned.

Is Bernadette McAliskey not speaking at an Éirígi rally in Arbor Hill on Saturday?

Best of luck to them, but I would also send a word of caution. There are people who masquarade as 'anti SF' one minute, but can be found openly canvassing for them the next.

If Brendan " The Dark " Hughes is attending you can rest assured that he won't have much time for any " Retro Republicians ". The man is a legend and a true Irish republican soldier who is not afraid to speak his mind in his home town of Belfast. If you do manage to get talking to him ask him how Arthur McAllister is doing these days.

I will try to make it up to Derry this Saturday to listen to him.

Johnny, Can you please confirm by PM if Tommy Mc and Brendan are definitely attending.

AFAIK, Brendan Hughes is living in poverty in Belfast with serious health issues, so I think you are wrong xmg.

Marian Price, national secretary of the 32 County Sovereignty Movement will also be speaking. It is a shame Eirigi will not be attending, nor RSF in an official capacity but still i believe as the unity project gathers momentum all republicans will be represented.

I wish you all well, however, I prefer to give my support to Gerry Mc Geough, whom I regard as an honest, genuine Irish Catholic patriot.

I believe that Irish republicanism is deeply flawed, hopelessly fragmented. It was imported from the masonic-led French Revolution. It took me years of study and reading to discover that. Time to find a better way forward.

Make sure the people you follow can be trusted regarding honesty, truthfulness, and integrity.

Irish Separatists have been betrayed too often in the past.
