Volley of shots fired at Stickie funeral

A total WTF? moment..... Looks like the Shtacks still have a few pieces left anyway.

"A man has been arrested after shots were fired at a former Official IRA leader's funeral Police swooped after rounds were fired over the coffin of Johnny White, who died at the weekend in Derry. The man was apprehended on suspicion of possessing and discharging a firearm in public."

Johnny White was a member of the IRSP and the INLA. As you no doubt know, he left the Officials over 30 years ago. Breakingnews.ie among others got it wrong.

Why on earth do they even exist. Aside from "fundraising" to pay for Rabbittes, Gilmores, De Rossa and Liz Mc Manus Workers Party campaigns in the 1980's they haven't been heard of for a generation.

    Mea culpa.

Could this be the same incident referred to here?

I hope he's not intending on entering a plea of "not guilty" and hoping they don't have enough evidence to convict him.

The individual was released without charge. If it was him that fired the weapon he could have easily been charged. No volunteer was arrested and no gun was recovered.

    Volunteer? For what?

Genuine question - what is the raison d'etre of the INLA these days?
