The PSNI Historical Enquiries Team has this week produced reports into two fatal shooting incidents that took place in Belfast in 1992 and 1993.

The first incident took place on the afternoon of 5th February 1992 when UDA/UFF gunmen entered Sean Graham's bookies on the Ormeau Road, shot five men dead and wounded a number of others. Among the HET findings were that the RUC Special Branch handed back one of the murder weapons to UDA quartermaster Billy Stobie prior to the kilings. another finding was that investigating police failed to give sufficient consideration to a dangerous and unstable suspect, identified as 'Man A'.

The second incident occured one evening in March the following year when UDA/UFF gunmen entered premises at the Dariy Farm shopping centre on the outskirts of west Belfast and murdered 17 year-old Damian Walsh, who was working at the time. Undercover British soldiers who been observing a neighbouring unit, which was being used as an IRA explosives store, saw the killers arrive and leave but failed to intervene. Subsequently the army team provided incorrect information about the killer's getaway car to the police.

No-one was found responsible in relation to either incident, although two loyalists believed to have been involved in the bookies massacre were later themselves murdered by the IRA.

Specific questions to be answered include:
    1. We know the late Billy Stobie was a police agent. Were other agents involved in the bookies massacre? Was Man A an agent?
    2. The British Army must provide more information about the murder of Damain Walsh. How far was its surveillance team from the murder? Why didn't they intervene? Why did they provide wrong information about the killer's getaway vehicle to the police?
    And so the bigot returns

The BA does not answer to picatroll

The surveillance team was too far away to prevent the murder.
They didn't intervene presumably because they were too far away.
Wrong information probably because of distance and a genuine mistake but hey dont let that get in your way we all know how soldiers in cars are treated in West Belfast

Is it the opinion of our unionist friends that the murder of innocent civilians by the forces of law and order is perfectly acceptable?

BTW, I think the murder of innocent civilians by terrorist groups is also totally unacceptable.

You may wish to read up on these incidents before commenting again.

Picador after having rings run round him elsewhere has went back to BA bashing where he will promptly have more rings run round him.

Whats new, everybody knew that the RUC were sectarian thugs down through the years and had no respect for the minority, Mr Adams fought for equality , the Good Friday agreement, the introduction of catholics into the force plus the success Sinn Fein had in the trasfer of policing when Unionists were saying they would not allow it for years, Accountability for the future supported by the electorate is what the future holds.

    No, the SDLP did that.

Adams fought for a United Ireland.

That's what PIRA and PSF were set up to fight for.

And when they failed to get what they wanted, they claimed to have been fighting for something else all along.

John Hume was an exceptional good leader, he knew from the start there could be no agreement without Sinn Fein, he got no support North or South all he got was abuse, time proved he was right. The people wanted good honest leadership they got it in the leadership of Sinn Fein, The facts speak for themselves Sinn Fein gaining seats at each Assembly election, gaining support and trust all the time,

Why? BC and his ilk take great pride in the fact that the IRA murder groups were highly infiltrated by the British government.

It turns out they were running both sides of the murder machine.
