From one of the links in the OP
There are strong suspicions British intelligence had advance knowledge of the attack and failed to act in order to protect agents in the IRA operating in Europe.
Not of this attack obviously, as it was such a reckless opportunistic crime.
That they could have arrested the unit earlier perhaps.
When I read ''Dutch Shootings'' in the title, I knew exactly what it would be refering to.

    Should I bite?

I did spend an evening in the town of Roermond in the mid 90's, and did think of this murder when I stood in the square.

The attack on the Australians was not the only fatal IRA attack in Roermond. Two years earlier the IRA killed three RAF personnel and wounded two others in two separate shooting incidents carried out on the same night.

Are you a Liverpool fan by any chance, Picador? You rather remind me of the fans after Heysel who kept telling everyone: "It was the Chelsea fans wot done it! Honest, la, there were Cockneys in the stadium that day..."

Listen I simply presented a brief summary of the articles written by Suzanne Breen. Read them if you don't believe me. Watch the documentary on Sunday (if you can) and you want to find out more.

In the opening paragraph of my OP I pointed out that the IRA murdered the two Australians. In the second paragraph I mentioned Gerry Adams's poor behaviour towards their relatives.

So really, you are barking up the wrong tree.

And no, I am not a Liverpool fan either.

This so-called documentary was aired in Australia last night. It was merely a 15 minute piece of sensationalism by 3rd rate hacks whose main aim is to promote hysteria, hatred and anger in the community rather than any impart any kind of reasoned analysis.

It's interesting to find this thread and read that it was in production as far back as 2008. I can't believe they spent more than 20 minutes putting this piece of rubbish together.

Gerry Adams was button holed outside Stormant by the reporter and accused by him point blank of having been a high level IRA man and instrumental in the murder of the two Australians in Holland. He was gobsmacked and fairly outraged and replied along the lines of "You can't come here and accuse me of that, you stupid hayseed Australian." And that was it. It was a waste of 15 minutes watching it and offensive to all parties involved and i went to school with one of the victims.

If you want to see it for yourselves, please see the link below and feel free to use the comments section to let Sunday Night know how rubbish the story was.
