PSNI speak out at orange paramilitary attacks.

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/northern_ireland/6573475.stm

A PSNI inspector has told Belfast Crown Court how loyalist blast bombs sent a "shockwave" through a Land Rover.

John Mains, 37, and Colin Harbinson, 36, both from Highfield Drive, deny attempted murder.

The pair were captured on camera firing shots at police, but claimed there was never any intention to kill.

The officer told the court he was "punched, kicked and jostled by Orangemen then by supporters" at the flashpoint

Something has to be done to stop these thugs, we are now getting close to the loyalist orange marching season and already there are reports of several orchestrated sectarian attacks.

It is futile - the judges will let them off on the flimsiest excuse or give them a small sentence

Anything under 10 years in jail will send out the wrong message to those already planning their attacks for the summer.

Well if these orange order members and supporters dont get punished for turning up at a parade like the A-Team with bombs made out of pipes and firing guns at police officers, then these attacks will not only continue but increase.

perhaps - but sure they are only defending their civil and religious liberties and if the uppity taigs allow them to march then there would not be any trouble and it is all the taigs fault you see for they are not liberal minded and in a free society people should be allowed to march.

It is all the taigs fault

'spose they have to march through here,
Because 99,999 parades a year just isnt enough and they need pipe bombs and guns to force their way through this road.

    I love this bit....

The pair were captured on camera firing shots at police, but claimed there was never any intention to kill.

"Here mister judge man, we wur just firin' them there guns as performance art and because nobody wuz hit wif a bullet we obviously didnt mean any harm, y'know like cuz my mates a crackin shot if he wanted to kill the policeman he wuda!"

No no no - the best line ever was the loyalist who had the gun in the bedroom - he said that the dog had found it and took it home and left it there and the judge accepted that. Can you remember that one?

I hope they get the maximum possible sentence that is allowed. Does attempted murder qualify for a life sentence? If so, then so be it. Shame that the oo clowns who attacked the police weren't also caught on camera. Wasters.
