After Saville - What Price Justice for Victims of Other British Army Shootings?

Bloody Sunday was but one of a number of multiple shootings causing civilian casualties that was carried out by the British Army duing the early 1970s. The others took place mainly at night and away from the eyes of the media.

The Ballymurphy shootings of 9th-11th August 1971 were carried out by the Parachute Regiment following the introduction of internment and left eleven dead.
    Ballymurphy Massacre-Home

The Springhill shootings of July 9th 1972 coincided with the breakdown of a truce and left five people dead, including two boys who belonged to the IRA's youth wing.
Springhill Massacre July 1972 - Relatives for Justice

The New Lodge shootings of 3rd February 1973 left six dead, including three IRA members, two of whom were assassinated by loyalists.
    The Newlodge: The Newlodge Six

In all three incidents cited above the accounts of civilian eye-witnesses differ wildly from those of the British Army.

Now that the British state has finally come clean, so to speak, on Bloody Sunday - will the truth emerge about these other shootings which have not been forgotten in either north or west Belfast?

Am sure Cameron doesn't have the 600 million to cover the cost of legal fees. Not going to happen.

What do you hope to achieve with this thread other than another bout of what about what about what about?

The British State owned up to murder today. It was not the only time it happened. Indeed the same trigger-happy Paras who went on the rampage in Derry on Bloody sunday had killed eleven people in Ballymurphy just a few months before.

The truth can set you free.

No I don't think that will ever happen again. But now that the Brits have confessed their biggest sin they might as well confess the rest too.

The truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth will set us free.

I am sure you are mature enough to realise we will never get anywhere near the whole truth from all sides involved

That is not a reason not to damand it. Now that its lies have been exposed with regard to Bloody Sunday, the British Army could easily come clean about what happened on the three occasions mentioned above.

I think you misunderstood me. I am implying that we will never know the truth regarding IRA activity, Loyalist activity so why should the British Army offer itself up as the sacrificial lamb when the two main players wont?

Why all this desire to see the 'truth' concerning the actions of the British army, and pleas to 'move on' concerning the actions of the SF (IRA) leadership?
