Bloody Sunday was but one of a number of multiple shootings causing civilian casualties that was carried out by the British Army duing the early 1970s. The others took place mainly at night and away from the eyes of the media.
The Ballymurphy shootings of 9th-11th August 1971 were carried out by the Parachute Regiment following the introduction of internment and left eleven dead.

The Springhill shootings of July 9th 1972 coincided with the breakdown of a truce and left five people dead, including two boys who belonged to the IRA's youth wing.

The New Lodge shootings of 3rd February 1973 left six dead, including three IRA members, two of whom were assassinated by loyalists.

In all three incidents cited above the accounts of civilian eye-witnesses differ wildly from those of the British Army.
Now that the British state has finally come clean, so to speak, on Bloody Sunday - will the truth emerge about these other shootings which have not been forgotten in either north or west Belfast?
