Perhaps you would care to address the British Army's responsibility for the Ballymurphy shootings without engaging in shallow whataboutery.
What a hypocritical remark concerning 'whataboutery'.

Either you are interested in 'the truth' or else you are concerned with a selective truth for political point scoring.

Whatever happened to the constant pleas to 'move on', 'it's all in the past', 'history is bunk' etc etc etc whenever the background of the current leadership of SF is examined?

So you've gone from whatabout to whatever. You wish for the destruction of your political opponents (from a safe distance I might add). I desire to live in peace.

There is an onus on all parties to the conflict to contribute to the truth and reconciliation process. That includes the British Government and it includes the IRA. However there is no onus on individuals to incriminate themselves, which I think is what you are seeking (so long as it isn't a British soldier or politician who is incriminated)

As we both know, the current political leadership of your community has committed heinous acts which they have never acknowledged or been held accountable for.

You are happy to bury your head in the sand with regards to this fact.

However, when it comes to the prosecution of ageing Working Class squaddies you somehow resist the temptation to 'forgive and forget'.

The war is over, Cameron will spend no more money on enquires, Stormont and the GFA have shown the road ahead, very symbolic yesterday to see Mr Murphy and McGuinness with Mr Cowen opening the new road, The people of the North have made their choice and the future is bright indeed.

You insidiously seek to attach personal blame to me - via 'my community' - for events I was not involved in.

You also seek to totally misrepresent me. I support calls for a Truth Commission involving all sides, including republicans. I believe an amnesty is a prerequisite and I said that many times while discussing the implications of the Saville Report,

You however, seek to have republican leaders held individually accountable for past actions, while brushing over the misdeeds of the British Army in places like Ballymurphy

    No, I don't.

I'm only commenting here because you made several impassioned pleas to me to 'put it in the past', 'move on' etc, etc, etc when the past crimes of the SF leadership were mentioned.

I took you at your word.

Now I see you looking for 'justice' concerning the actions of the British army some forty years ago.

I believe that makes your appeals somewhat hypocritical.

    The truth is the truth.

If they did something wrong then let it come out.

However, 'justice' for me is not protection and immunity for the influential politicians of your community, and the prosecution of B.A. squaddies.

    Not at all.

Clearly the past is relevant to this thread. However when you and others seek to divert debates about wholly present day issues inot debates about the past, I refuse to go along with the distraction.

The families of the victims are looking for justice.

As well as misprepresenting me once again, you also demonstrate your own mindbending hypocrisy - i.e. justice should deal with Gerry Adams but not with British squaddies.

    No.

You clearly stated the above in debates that were unambiguously historical.

The families of the victims are looking for justice.
But for you some of these families appear more equal than others.

I'm not misrepresenting you at all.

I'm just pointing out your line in relation to crimes allegedly committed by the SF leadership is entirely different to your line in relation to crimes allegedly committed by former B.A. military personnel.
