As a northern catholic I'm unsure how I would vote if given the chance. I don't need to be paid in Euros to be Irish. Economically it seems to make little sense for me . That said I could vote yes on romantic principles. It's just not as clear cut as many believe

That is the mentality of a prostitute.

Dev whom Im not a fan of at all said that by voting for the treaty we would be condemning ourselves to carnal, animal mentality...How right that proved.

Id rather be poorer than I am and Im not rich with power of self determination than rich and a slave.

Unenthusiastic about any of the buggers.

Yes very emotive. Reality is that one million Protestants have to be accommodated. Personally I would settle for some sort of dual governance. The border is sn artifical construct that causes me no concern and certainly does not stop me from being an Irishman.

I think its a bit wrong to talk about "Prostitute". Hardly the way to win over people.

Factual one of my best friends is a prostitute. I love her to bits and I understand why she has the mentality that she does...But comprehension and even empathy are not the same as approval.

So one has to be a republican to not be a unionist? Hmm, I think you're redefining well established terms.

That could change quite quickly. If recent mutterings in the international media are more than mutterings, then the new British government that's elected in a couple of months will have to make immediate painful and dramatic cuts in public expenditure or risk a Greek-style crisis. Northern Ireland with its extraordinary reliance on the public sector will be hit hardest of all the UK regions.
