SF's Conor Murphy - holding people to account.

Those who ponder the worth of locally elected politicians having a say in affairs within the northern six counties would do well to note the example set here by DRD Minister Conor Murphy.
Decisive action has been taken by Murphy against a number of very senior public employees on their handling of very large public utility contracts.

The refrain from many 26 county politicos is that SF is not fit for government in that jurisdiction. However, when the actions of Murphy are held up against the cronyism and 'no one is to blame attitude' employed by the current FF/Green administration, that refrain looks pretty weak.

The sooner we have leaders of that quality running the show here the better!

On the basis of the article, it does appear to be very decisive action by the minister. No reports or commission of enquiry? *shudder*

The issue of SF representation in the Irish government rests on two issues:

    - the existence of the IRA as a body
    - the compatibility of SF economic policies with those of other parties (or vice versa, depending on one's perspective).

An Irish minister holding someone to account.

    Now there's a novel idea.

Very novel indeed. Fair play to Conor Murphy.

    Fair dues to Con.

He has as much ministerial exp. now as Kenny, and more so than most in FG's frontbench.

I'd be much more impressed if SF had sacked the dole cheat who is SF's current leader in the Dáil. Double standards as always from SF/IRA.

Credit where it is due. I commend Paul Murphy for taking decisive action. Accountability is the key to providing greater public service. If public servants realise they can loose their cushy state jobs they will smarten up in work.

BTW, the family of Paul Quinn would like some accountability too.

Of course you will be producing evidence to substantiate your allegation?

Great work by Conor in this instance, however he is not above cronyism himself.

I take it these people sacked weren't 'Good Republicans'
Did Sean Hughes ever apply to have his freezing order overturned?
