35 out of 52 unionists in favour. The DUP was solidly behind Robinson - with the exception of Willie McCrea, who had a date.

I'm greatly relieved this was carried. Political instability is the last thing this place needs.

Its Just a further act of normalising British Rule and cementing the Union.

All Right thinking, democrats would see this for what it is, and be opposed.

Well the only right thinking democrats who opposed it were the UUP and how does it cement the union.

Surely there are 18 UUP MLA's so one of them must have voted yes.

Well thank God all that nonsence is over.
Now they'll all go off to look for something else to create chaos with, anyone any ideas of when the next deadlock is coming?
I bet Education will be the next thing to come, the DUP are already totally opposing any reform and standing firmly behind the old fashioned exams for children and the existance of class division in education.
I doubt that they would even be doing this if it wasnt for the fact that SF support education reform.
Maybe SF should start to oppose it, then the reactionist DUP will come out in full force to support it - problem solved.

Has it turned you into a Unionist then?

If not then how is it made it Unionism any stronger?

Has their vote increased, did it make any Republican you know decide to fly a Union Jack out their front window?

Dont you realise that its down to the people?

All this flapping about in Stormont isnt going to change this fact.

A peaceful, stable state within the United Kingdom is all most unionists ever wanted. If it continues into the future and brings greater prosperity for all its citizens the number of Catholics happy with the constitutional status quo may increase leaving a strong majority in favour. It is good for Unionism in the long run, good for everyone who doesn't want death, destruction and chaos mind.
