If nationalists in Northern Ireland are still crowing about a United Ireland in another 30 years after a generation of peace re-partition and the moving of the border closer to Belfast will become a likely scenario.
So why the objections to a Republic? You stated ealier in the thread that N.i would go it alone if the U.K disintergrated.

So is that not anti-irish? a willingness to cut your own nose off for want of a better phrase, rather than enter into a repunlic with southeners?

You can't blame the provo's, the Ulster Covenant was signed before the I.R.A was established nevermind the provo's.

You harp on about being non sectarian which i'll give you the benefit of the doubt but you cannot hide your hatred of everything Irish. It's manifested itself again and again on this thread.

I don't mind people disagreeing with me but at least have the decency to debate the points instead of name calling.

It was an illegal rebellion against my country.

The OO on the other hand was created specifically to oppose Irish Catholics.
The Orange Order was created to oppose the Catholic Church.

By all means parade and enjoy yourselves but don't be surprised when Irish Catholics don't join in this particular brand of festivities.
Thanks very much, just leave us to get on with it then, nobody is asking for anything more.

As for the soilders song whatabouterry so what? it's a dirge. Does that excuse the Billy Boys in your eyes ?
Well, yes. It pretty much does excuse it. Republicans spent the last 40 years trying to bomb and shoot is into a state which has a highly offensive national anthem. Get the beam out of your eye before you start moaning about a football chant.

You'll have to forgive the billion + Catholics outside Ireland for not noticing.

The Orange Order are direct descendents of the Peep o day boys and it was established to oppose Irish Catholics directly.

You defend the violent hatred in the 'Billy Boys' lyrics yet still expect Protestant bands to be allowed to march whereever they like.
Cant you see why nationalists might tar the Order with a sectarian brush when some people have an attitude like that.
As I said, march if you need to but open your own eyes as to why some Irish Catholics may feel the need to oppose people with your attitude

That was 250 years ago, we have moved along a bit since then. Are you suggesting that the Orange Order is still organising dawn raids on Catholics homes, or that individaul catholics are being targeted at lodge meetings?

The Billy boys is a football chant from Glasgow. It has no official standing, and I've never sung it in my life, now, back to the Soldiers song...

No. When one side is as bad as the other, I don't see that either side has the right to point the finger. Sort yourself out first, then you can take the high ground.

Don't actually march myself, never have. I feel sorry for the OO though having to deal with people with your attitude. You can see no wrong on your side, but are adept at pointing out others faults.

No. When one side is as bad as the other, I don't see that either side has the right to point the finger. Sort yourself out first, then you can take the high ground. Relax. I have acknowledged the right to march and did not try to defend the s song. Neither side is blameless but you only seem to see one viewpoint. Residents also have the right to protest when an anti Irish catholic organisation wants to march through an anti Irish area. I mentioned the OO origins merely to point out the inaccuate statement you made about why it was created
