I think its quite possible that Peter Robinson has not broken any code of office and feels justified he did nothing wrong. As leader of his party he has no good willing replacement. Dodds wants to leave leadership a few years at least for various reasons. So he will stay and although UCUNF and TUV have benefited from this scandal, Robinson remains a formidable political talent, and he will likely overcome the problems facing him from within.
However, he still faces an even more formidable talent in Gerry Adams from without.

So which item of clothing did Kirk keep as a 'souvenir'?Even Monica is now a man.![]()
Why do SF seem to be settling for Robinson, if this happened south of the border resignations would be called for immediately and rightly so? Robinson owns a property empire, he's not stupid. I find it very hard to believe he didn't know all that was going on until the Spotlight programme.
I've looked at forums on the topic in the Uk and in Northern |Ireland and its ironic they are garnering more sympathy from here than anywhere else - obviously our tolerance for dodgy politicians is greater.
Hmm interesting

Selwyn Black is sortof like the Linda Tripp in all this, in that he kept the text messages from Iris Robinson just as Tripp recorded her phone-calls with Monica. A dress doesn't arise for...obvious reasons (unless 'Mrs' Robinson has another skeleton in her closet we don't know about).![]()

They are, of course, among the highest paid husband-and-wife team in Westminster and were criticised during the expenses scandal for claiming £571,939 in one year from the British taxpayer in salaries and expenses from legislatures and other public bodies.
An official report showed Mrs Robinson submitted one claim for £352: it showed a £300 Mont Blanc pen, a £6 bottle of ink, and £46 for perfume, which she said, had been 'submitted in error' by her office and had not been reimbursed.
In addition, their two sons, daughter and a daughter-in-law are paid up to £150,000 in salaries out of the couple's allowances. So the latest allegations of financial impropriety are particularly unwelcome for the Robinsons and left the Northern Ireland First Minister fighting for his political life last night.

Mrs Robinson's glamorous looks have drawn comments that she has gone under the surgeon's knife.
'I've heard remarks that I've had a facelift and that that's why I've grown my hair to hide the scars,' she revealed. 'It's just ridiculous, but you learn to let it wash over you.'
If they are earning so much and claiming for everything under the sun, lets face it the cost of living is lower up North and she takes appears to take a cut of any money she sources in this case 5 grand how come she has personal debts?
One of the texts said she needed the money to pay personal debts
