    This ^

She did originally say it was a 'mental health' issue, didn't she? So that makes sense, given her particular brand of (internal?) homophobia
Don't blame me; I voted for Kodos.

In fairness, I'm not sure shinnerism, republicanism or being out under the Good Friday Agreement count as religion or religions.

    That's also true.

He has my every sympathy. As does she.

And yet something weak and human in me wants to see hypocrisy exposed.

Bad time for the UDA decommissioning announcement, purely from a lack of the spotlight of course.

Of the alleged extra-marital affair could tie in with the story regarding depression and mental illness

In June 2008, shortly after a homophobic attack (involving physical assault) on a gay man in Northern Ireland, she made comments on the BBC Radio Ulster's Stephen Nolan Show offering to recommend homosexuals to psychiatric counselling.[11] While condemning the attack,[12] she said during the broadcast:

"I have a very lovely psychiatrist who works with me in my offices and his Christian background is that he tries to help homosexuals — trying to turn away from what they are engaged in".

    She went on to say:

"I'm happy to put any homosexual in touch with this gentleman and I have met people who have turned around and become heterosexuals." She claimed that homosexuality was an "abomination" and it made her feel "sick" and "nauseous".

In a subsequent interview Mrs Robinson defended her views and denied prejudice against LGBT people, saying that "just as a murderer can be redeemed by the blood of Christ, so can a homosexual.... If anyone takes issue, they're taking issue with the word of God"
