Don't be trying to shift the debate on to me, you are the one who admitted that the PSF leadership have been engaged in a cover up concerning the July 1981 offer for several decades as the truth would be harmful to PSF. This was a rather dramatic shift from accusing those who seek the truth of engaging in 'fanciful conspiracies'.

How ironic it is that on one of the few times that you have dabbled with the truth you had to retract and backpeddle as soon as you were found out. Integrity as strong a point as ever I see.
Oh, so after weeks of asserting that I am lying about coming from Belfast you have now changed your tune. Perhaps you will also accept that I have nothing to do with Sinn Féin. I won't hold my breath.

As I am not involved in a cover-up I can't 'admit' that a cover-up exists. Nor can I be engaged in 'loose talk' about said cover-up.

I have said consistently that I don't buy the official SF version of the hunger strike. I have also said consistently that I don't buy the 'dissident' version of the hunger strike. Their real problem with the great leader is that he changed his views. They wish to supplant one tissue of lies with another.

Authoritarianism kills. Those who subscribe to it are invariably liars.

I've learned a bit about you since, Pic; I now know that you're from North Belfast, just like your finance dept. buddy Pat McL. The fact remains that somebody has been stupid enough to make you privy to internal PSF hunger strike briefings, why else would you be able to state so explicitly:

Mention of the message and the fact that prisoners had discussed it was omitted from Ten Men Dead to prevent contemporary and future enemies of the emerging Adams-McGuinness leadership from making precisely the sort of accusations and insinuations that are being thrown around now.

Your knowledge of and acknowledgment of the cover up is contained above; you speak of details being 'omitted', the truth being concealed; that's a cover up. The fact that you moved so rapidly and desperately to backpeddle would suggest that your indiscretion was noted and pointed out to you.

You've been spouting the PSF version, the only problem from their perspective being that it has often contained elements that weren't for public consumption. Somebody's going to have some serious splaining to do.

You can't fence-sit Pic, not with all your empty platitudes about the 'truth'.

Explain the MI5 smears you have been directing at me, what's your motivation in this regard?

Well the information contained above could only have come from MI5.

You'll be telling me that Saddam Hussein had Weapons of Mass Destruction next!

Sorry, but this discussion is not about truth. It's about conflicting versions of propaganda.

And once again it has highlighted your lack of exposure to the concept of irony.

Try, just for a second, acting with some modicum of integrity as opposed to dishonest and clumsy evasion.

Dreadful accusations and ridiculous nonsense from that Fool Dark Angel. Its quite scary to know that brain damaged people, such as DA, can walk about with no restrictions on their crazy notions that MI5 or whoever is flavour of the month, are watching their every move, even when it must become apparent to even the most ridiculous of these nutters that going to the chip shop, having a pee, hiding from Mammy in the bedroom are not going to excite these "secret agents". I'm kind of embarrassed for him.

I am, however, determined to discover the truth behind the deaths of the Hunger Strikers. They had awful deaths, dreadful, and if those who claim they loved them and looked at them as brothers in arms could have prevented it but did not due to selfish/political reasons then the world should know, and using the Peace Process as an excuse to protect Adams and co., will only work for a short time. The truth will out, and I believe now that the Hunger Strikers were effectively murdered - by their own.

Would that DA was merely a random looper. S/he is engaging in an agenda driven campaign to smear me for challenging the PSF narrative, it's rather pathetic and inconsequential compared with the author of the letter contained in the OP being driven from her home with her husband and small children after a protracted intimidation campaign which saw the family home surrounded by aggressive picketers. Richard O Rawe has had his reputation and character slandered and assassinated since he went public with the truth.

DA's comrade Picador has willfully participated in the counter-productive and infantile smear campaign. His actions are in contrast to the declared shinner of the triumverate, Pat McLarnon who at least has the wit to know when to say nothing. There will have been shockwaves over Picador's blabbing of the PSF propaganda management strategy, as evidenced by his frantic backpeddling and attempts to obscure.

The truth is there, it's becoming increasingly apparent and easy to determine as we cut through the spin, concealment and lies emanating from PSF quarters. The most comprehensive archive of material relevant to the debate can be found here - July 1981

    Well done Kat,

You make Eoghan Harris in his Stickie demogogue phase seem positively lucid.

Marvelous Picador, now tell us where you heard this:

Mention of the message and the fact that prisoners had discussed it was omitted from Ten Men Dead to prevent contemporary and future enemies of the emerging Adams-McGuinness leadership from making precisely the sort of accusations and insinuations that are being thrown around now

Then explain why you have been participating in the agenda-driven smear campaign against me over the last couple of days.

What a sad person you are. Is it any wonder the British laugh at the Irish? So Thatcher is your hero now?
