At risk of coming over like a bleeding heart liberal that is in incredibly poor taste. And besides Robert Bradford was in the UUP

Didnt Ian Paisley blame the Loyalist sectarian attacks on Catholics homes and churches on " Homes that were filled with petrol bombs and churches that were filled with guns" ?
Abstinence makes the Church grow fondlers.
sure the DUP are a bunch of short sighted, bigoted religious nutters but have they ever set up kangaroo courts, convict prisoners of so called 'crimes' without any evidence, torture and beat the hell out of their victims before putting one behind their ear and chucking them in a peat bog? or what about just shooting Protestants in the back (or burning them alive) or blowing 3 shades of sh1te out of Unionist towns, I wonder which political party has members that carried out these sort of actions and endorsed them?
Ill not even go into the Catholic Church's bigotry.
I actually thought he was talking about the British army and the RUC until I read the bog part.
What's his argument anyway?
He makes a valid point about the Troubles and the terrible things that went on during that conflict, and I would agree that those things were awful - but that doesn't mean that people cant acknowledge the mad things the DUP have done recently.
The troubles does not excuse the DUP from their strange behaviour.
It's now 2009 and people like me who wernt born for the majority of the troubles are looking at the political situation in Stormont and coming to the conclusion that all parties apart from the DUP seem to have a bit of sanity about them.
These observations are from recent years, the Troubles are another topic which has been discussed immensely in other threads.
It might be too much to ask for people to judge our Politicians in Stormont without someone banging on about the Troubles but they better get used to it because that is how modern politics work.
Political parties get judged on their day to day behaviour, and the DUP are behaving terribly while others atleast understand how to act like politicians - even those with a history of being a huge part of a dirty war.

Willie Mc Crea MP stood on a stage in support of mass murderers and drug dealers Billy Wright and Mark Fulton (who was also a paedofile). Those were the men who oversaw a pregnant woman being shot in the stomach to kill her 3rd trimester foetus and then under the chin in front of her children, several pensioners being murdered in their homes on sunday evenings, school children in uniform being murdered in taxi offices, teenage girls being murdered in mobile shops and countelss other heinous acts against defenseless civilians with British state support.
The Provos did some terrible stuff, some of it by accident/incompetence and much of it through infiltration. The fruits of infiltration are seen in the professional liar/profiteer cabal who face off against the DUP in the stage-managed, sectarian charade of Stormont.
Irish Republicanism is not about Kangaroo courts, religious or indeed any other bigotry or the slaughter of Irish people. The greatest butcher of Irish people remains in our midst and it's apron is flaunted in our faces by its lackies. Until the butcher is forced to shut up shop in Ireland there will always be blood.

...but people vote for these guys in their thousands. The real sad thing is that they do not understand yet that they are the biggest victims of partition and the British presence in Ireland. Imagine having to go through life with this mentality. Where is there any beauty?
