Definately should have been in the top ten alright. That said you could fill a book with such DUP bile down through the years.

    Through the years?

A lot of those are very recent.

The DUP recently said that migrant workers who are part of the workforce should be considered for redundancy ahead of those who are considered to be 'native'.

Diane Dodds recently boasting about her sectarian opposition to Irish culture...

"It is now Republicans who are on the back foot. Look at the record – we have BINNED the Irish Language Act"

Mc Crea DUP recently stated that the Pope would face, "the vent of Protestant opposition" if he visited the Province, all this while Gordon Brown was visiting the Pope to push for a UK visit.

In 2004 Ruth Patterson - DUP demanded that the unionist paramilitaries explain why a Protestant pensioner from Donegal Pass was intimidated from her home. Cllr. Patterson demanded the explanation as the woman 'was not from an ethnic minority community or a Catholic'.

Her shocking comments suggested that there would be justification if the person was Catholic or Foreign.

..Oh, and how could we forget Ian Paisley (The RoI's new superstar) and his 'save Ulster from sodomy' campaign where he fought to retain the criminalisation of homosexuality?

...........Seriously this could go on for a very long time.

The real question is not 'are the DUP sectarian Neanderthals?'
The question should be 'Why do the DUP get treated like a normal political party?'

    This is a great list.

This is prime stuff for anyone who's handy at making satirical videos for Youtube.
You wouldnt even have to try and make them look bonkers.

    Something like this..

It was generally expected by the great and the good that once they became the dominant unionist party and were forced to share power on that basis that they would have to reign in the knuckle dragging antics of many of their representatives. This happened to an extent when Big Ian was in the ascendency but after the TUV gave the party a bloody nose in the Dromore Bye-election and since Robinson became leader the party has reverted to type. This has become even more evident since the battering Dodds got at the EU election in June and will continue to increase in the run up to the Westminister Elections next year and the Assembly and new District Council elections in 2011.

What to do about it-For Sinn Fein to unilateraly collapse the Assembly at this stage would hand the DUP the amunition they are seeking to face down Jim Allister in the upcoming elections. However Sinn Féin should signal its intention to pull out of the Policing Board and DPPs by December if the DUP don't deliver on the transfer of policing and justice. This would freek out the British and Irish governments who are supposed to be the guardians of the GFA and its implementation and they would be forced, albiet relutantly, to get tough with the DUP. If the DUP fold on the issue then unionism would splinter even more and if they don't they would rightly get the blame for the collapse of the institutions that would inevitably follow- a win win scenario.
" This would freek out the British and Irish governments ..." Why would it 'freek' them out? Where could S.F. go? They no longer have an IRA, they support partition , at least for the reasonably foreseeable future and for them to walk out would be an admission that those who accused them of going blindly down the wrong road were in fact right. S.F. have no important cards left to play without exposing their serious mistakes in trusting Britain and the D.U.P.

SF should just keep their noses clean and play the politically correct statesmen - even if it does mean they support the partition in the short term.

Meanwhile Unionism will tear itself apart and discredit itself beyond repair.
Theyre fighting over the bottom, trying to out-bigot eachother.

Without the IRA providing Unionism with a cloak of self imposed dignity and a moral highground, they cant hide.
The Unionist electorate will react, split and buckle as will their parties - just in time for the ending days of a Unionist majority.

The next election will be very interesting.

I think Nationalism/Republicanism is gaining the upper hand, but this could all be destroyed by a dissident campaign which will draw the focus back onto militant Republicanism and hand the Unionists their moral high ground all over again.

    Not big stuff but two of my favourite;

Ballymoney DUP Councilllors remove town's Christmas tree because of the number of green, white and orange lights on it.

DUP Councillors resolve to buy Ballygowan water over Perrier to support 'Ulster' business over Catholic France. Craters thought it was Ballygowan, Co. Down.

    And now they're TUV Lite?

I would love some of these DUP do the "a day in the life" story in the back of the Sundays Times Magazine.

"I usually wake up around 7.30am, and before I open my eyes I say the God "Thank you Father that I am not a Taig" The Father replies, "That may be true, my child, but there is no time to rest on your laurels, The Anti Christ is planning a trip to our wee County, and you and the rest of the Lost Tribe of Israel, must prevent this. Of Course, you and I both know that the Tribe is not Lost, but are in fact doing my work up on the Hill".
I jump in the Shower and with my Orange face cloth, and furiously scrub away the contamination from my husbandly duties the night before.
Mrs DUP, has laid out my suit for the day, and after putting in on I head down stairs, where Mrs DUP has an Ulster Fry ready. She hands me some traybakes, for my wee cup of tea at 11. My driver beeps the horn, and I'm of out the door."

Feel free to contribute to the rest of Mr DUPs day

I'm amazed Mr.DUP could do all that in his straight jacket.

Another few to add to the list, they even turn on their own...

    http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/ne...-14144287.html

Big Ian was attacked by his own party for wearing a shamrock and calling for St.Patricks day to be a holiday.

A DUP bencher called for the removal of shamrocks and other Irish items from tourist shops, he wanted them replaced with Union Jacks and red hands!

What about Billy Wright's mate William McCrea 'the singing Nun' he led a prayer service at the paramilitary funerals of Wesley Somerville and Harris Boyle, who were responsible for the Miami Showband killings - he has made numerous gospel albums.

Paisley once described a County Antrim priest as the 'bachelor agent of a foreign power'.
