Fraud Investigation at Tralee Town Council

It was reported on Radio Kerry this morning on the 9am local news bulletin that 2 members of the outdoor staff (binmen) of Tralee Town Council are being investigated over fraud in the rubbish collection service.

For those of you unfortunates whom God decided that you were not good enough to be born in Tralee we operate a tagged wheelie bin service here where you place an E8 tag on your bin when you put it out for collection. The suggestion is that the binmen were collecting bins from both private and commercial interests without the tags or payment, presumably to their own personal financial benefit (I do not know whether brown envelopes were invloved or not). The Council estimate their losses at E50K. SIPTU who are representing the men involved had nothing to say when contacted by Radio Kerry.

Another curious thing is that this story has not been mentioned on any other Radio Kerry news bulletin since 9am, not even the lunch-time news?

sellotape a 5 euro note under the lid for the premium service, and let us know what happens.
The truth is incontrovertible, malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it, but in the end; there it is.

I will be having my supper in the clink I'd imagine. That would be attempting to bribe a public servant, wouldn't it?

I had more in mind a little civic minded sleuthing and a possible breakthrough citizens arrest of your binman.
