They are not updating fast enough, a few counts are missing. they are almost as slow as count itself

Looks like Collopy in Limerick East isn't picking up nearly as many transfers as I thought he might (thank god!). Shanahan I thought would transfer almost exclusively to him but just as many went to Gerry McLoughlin.

Denis McCarthy looks like bringing FGs tally to 8 seats with SF limited to 1.

yes this is disappointing for SF, although even with most of them the gap would probably be too much.
The distribution in the South will be interesting. SF need to pick up a good chunk of RSF vote to stay in any type of contention. As I said earlier you would think with all those independents around the 250 mark and SF, They have a quota and a half between them. Looks more plausible than Long taking the seat, but in the absence of more detailed count analysis will have to wait.

    FFish view

Just in from City Hall...couldn't stay anymore. It was like watching a race between a snail, a slug and a tortoise watching the count. Nix's transfers went all over the shop in North, electing Hurley on the 10th count. Hurley's surplus didn't do enough to save Crowley.

In the East Kieran O'Hanlon increased his vote to take the 2nd seat.

South is a transfer nightmare, with Long looking in trouble as all the FG candidates polled highly leaving no sweeper to elect them all.

The transfers are so volitile that I wouldn't even try to predict how it will end. I've gotten it very wrong so far in predictions, thinking that Leddin would do very well in North.

    Respective well dones and comiserations.

Link you posted earlier today was good. Do you have any idea where Jerome Scanlons transfers are going in Newcastle. Opinion seems to be all outgoing will be back in. I'm not convinced it's as cut and dried as that.

There was a different system operating for the Limerick/Limerick West constituency, therefore no tallies online.

I wasn't at the county count, though might head to the Castleconnell count later.

    FF -1
    FG +2
    Lab +1
    SF +1
    Ind -3

Well done to everyone who put their name forward. Running for public office isn't a decision taken lightly and particularly to the 34 candidates who failed on this attempt.

For sitting coucnillors who lost their seat it is particularly difficult, and for first time candidates, having lost an election or 2 myself, all I can say is that victory is all the sweeter for losing when it eventually comes.

While on a party level FF failed to take a seat in the North or South, I extend congratulations to Jim Hickey, John Cronin and Joe Crowley for putting in the effort to see them hanging in til the bitter end, with John and Jim being the last to be eliminated in the respective EAs. I think it's probably fair to say given the performances of those 3 that FF would have taken 3 or 4 seats on a good day with the candidates we had.

For Tom O'Callaghan it was a shock to me considering the profile he built in the local media, however I'm not sure what level of canvassing and response he was getting.

Anna Banko was the mistake on the ticket and I expect the organisation will learn from this mistake. However over 50% of her transfer remained in the party, which is some consolation.

With respect to Banko I suspect that the situation was misrepresented to her in that she probably thought the party infrastructure would roll in behind her. Little did she know that there is no party infrastructure locally.
Dan Sullivan. I was back but we still couldn't all have a vote.
