    clare planning

Anyone remember the case of a house near Lemanagh castle 2006 where 2 senior planners overturned the area planner and decided to give planning permission? An Bord Pleanala got involved-I quizzed the planning authority about it and they didn't like it. Anyone know what the outcome was? Thanks

Not from the locale, but sounds like about a dozen similar cases in Dublin I could mention.
If it helps - if the horse hasn't already bolted, as it were - locate the planning guidelines, development plans, etc., for your local authority, identify the bits that deal with heritage protection, architectural conservation areas, guidelines for building near listed buildings, etc., and in a planning objection (or ensuing appeal) identify everything that would be contravened in these areas by the granting of planning permission. Condense your obection & have it printed in the local paper.
Usually they will give permission for anything if they think nobody is paying attention but when their obligations are loudly pointed out to them their hands are tied.
(I might have misread between the lines altogether in you query. If so, please disregard the preceding...

Well cloud night then, sometime it's hard maybe a bit logical and i dont think if i am in a possition to grant planing permission and i am consulted i will definitely grant the permission to be honest unless underwise.

In the absence of any logic or scent of coherence and the rather obvious attempt to stir up nonsense by sailing quite close to the wind legally, I've locked this.
Dan Sullivan. I was back but we still couldn't all have a vote.
