    Sinn Fein split in Waterford!

Major split in Waterford regarding David Cullinane's trip to Washington DC this week as part of a City Council delegation. Word on the ground is that a meeting was held last night at which Cullinane came in for serious criticism from county-based members for "embrassing" the party. Sinn Fein Councillors were slated on local radio for 2 days because they have been very critical in the past of Co Councillors who went to New York for St Patricks Day.

Shinners are getting nervous prior to the local elections!

Cullinane is Sinn Fein's former "next big thing". Less a totem for Norn Iron's most bloodthirsty cult, more a Brian Hayes for the kneecappers. Sooner or later people see through the snakeoil.

I think its great the way some people are keeping an eye on what is happening inS.F, it shows that all the extra votes that S,F got in the last election is becoming a big danger to some sitting T.Ds if they were to increase theit vote by the same amount agin it could cause havoc to the status quo.

    2002 Results---David Cullinane 0.32 of a quota
    2007 Results---David Cullinane 0.34 of a quota

That kind of increase in Cullinane's vote wont worry too many in Waterford!! (it might worry a few in SF HQ though!!)

'Word on the ground'. Is that any relation to the 'dogs in the street'? Or are they just interchangeable excuses for bullsh*t.

Garret Fitzgerald who i agree was a brillant man, spent years trying to wipe out S,F in the north even going so far as to set up a forum with that in mind,he never thought that S,F would become so powerful in Stormont,if there are local problems Mr Adams will solve them.
