    jackie healy rae

Which is worse: his hair or voice? I can't decide. Every time I listen to him I laugh. Is there anyone who doesn't mind him? Will his successor be just like him or will we get a break?

Jackie Healy Rae is a terrific person and not everyone is given the gift of great hair!! So lets rely on his political talents that he was elected for and agree that he has not entered a beauty contest! Donald Trump is not too worried about his hair is he? And at least he did not pay thousands like others to put a rug on his head. Jackie is a very down to earth person and his hair is teh least of his concerns!

Jackie's plant hire business - leasing equipment to councils for 100 miles around Kilgarvan - has made him richer than God. The cloth cap is a disguise. The term cute hoor comes to mind. The son is playing the same game.

Last I heard its a free country and we are entitled to run businesses. KCC has to accept bids and if he and his family are competitive , fair dues to them. Jackie is a successful business man and that is something to be proud of and not hide. He wears the hat because he likes it and he is comfortable wearing it. He used to wear a Russian hat previous to that in earlier years but changed to this more traditional look. There are some very interesting photos in his book written by Donal Hickey.

JHR is no fool - in fact, its the real fool that would dismiss him as such..

sharp as a new blade, and as cunning as they get..

and - is preparing for Michael to take the mantle on his retirement..

Wait for the naming of "Bertie's Eleven" to see what I mean..
news - something that somebody, somewhere, doesn't want made public

Why is the thread titled "jackie healy rae" and not Jackie Healy Rae?

The truth is incontrovertible, malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it, but in the end; there it is.

I just thought it was annoying with his voice and his hair is weird. I'm not from Kerry where I can see how good a politician he is.

cute hoor? lying deceiptive m*&^*f*&er more like. on his website it has him as 'independent fianna fail'. that party was based in donegal and folded a couple years back - or is he trying to get the best of both worlds -both an independent and fianna fail? i think the latter.

I take it back, ive been brought to tears by the following (on the website). Dev would have been proud:

Growing up in Kilgarvan, hurling, for which he would win two Kerry county championship medals, cycling and Gaelic football were his favourite sports. On long summer evenings in Kilgarvan, they hurled until dusk, changing to football when it became too dark to see the smaller hurling ball (sliotar). The echo of the clash of the ash and the crisp thud of a sliotar were clarion calls to young men who would rush to Kilgarvan sportsfield as soon as cows were milked and another day’s work on the farm was done.
