    Tipp North

I've been watching the coverage all day but I've either missed it or it hasn't been on yet. Any news on Tipp North?

Looks like Lowry and 2 Fianna Fail at the moment I think.

Well Lowry was always going to get in, I'm a bit surprised to see hoctor still rearing her evil head although congrats to smith if he does, he's not the worst. I wouldn't mind seein coonan getting in though.

Hoctor 7,395, Smith 7,755, Coonan 7,038. Quota will be 11,025. A good few eliminations to come, notably O'Meara's 4,505. Plus Lowry's surplus of 1,530 approx, a lot of which should go to Coonan. Smith poorish in 2002 at pulling transfers, a lot of eliminations coming in the Nenagh area so I reckon they'll help Hoctor get elected first. Whether it's Smith or Coonan after that is really 50-50.

it's got to be coonan, especially since it's so close between himself and Smith, and with all those O'Meara votes hanging around, they will decide the outcome

O' Meara has a strong FF background though and a lot of the nenagh transfers will go to Hoctor.

In the words of every Fianna Fail supporter out there:
    "Sure there all at it".

I'd much prefer to see Coonan in any day though.

I'm very doubtful about that, there's a lot of frustration with the stumbling of Maire Hoctor over Nenagh Hospital (O'Meara's major issue). O'Meara probably attracted the majority of people dissatisfied with Hoctor, and to a lesser extent Smith. Her transfers are destined for Coonan in my opinion.

And of course, don't forget the transfers Coonan will get from Lowry! That makes a Coonan seat very likely.

O'Meara will be very surprised and disappointed with the result, it's really symptomatic of a nationwide issue though.
