    Sinn Fein in West Waterford

the fact that David Cullinane doesn't enjoy the full support of SF in west waterford, particularly in the An Rinn, must be worrying for the party.
it's obvious there's no love lost between Cullinane and Mansfield, but if he cant get the pocket of support in the West behind him 100%, then he has no chance.
it's reported today in the Dungarvan Leader that the Cumman in An Rinn took a hardline stance on policing and voted against the motion.
i actually believe, that Martin Cullen could in fact benefit from this, and a sizeable portion of the "republican " vote in west waterford will go to him.
one prominent sf supporter, (who is around a lot longer than either mansfield or cullinane), told me recently that they just dont see cullinane as a "credible" candidate.
Interesting times ahead on the SF front in Waterford

So Cullen took a hard line stance against supporting the PSNI too did he?

Cullen was the man pressing the button at Warrenpoint.

I dunno about that .. but I do know a few FF'ers down my way, who when they get a few pints in them, suddenly remember that they were with Seam Sabhat in 56..

I know for a fact that what Deep Throat is saying is completely incorrect. In fact the real reason for the posting is that the sitting TD's are beginning to realise how strong Culinane is....It is widely acknowledged that SF in Waterford are engaged in widespread and highly public campaigning. This sort of post is a tribute to the progress Cullinane and his team are making.

Cullinane will be in with a shout. there's no doubt about that, but why did sf supporters put up an independent candidate for the udaras elections?
with regards to the sf campaign in waterford, it's going to take a lot more than 6 or 7 cars arriving in an estate 2 weeks before polling day, with tricolours flying and "the men behind the wire" blaring out from a crappy PA system, to get cullinane elected.

ROC, if you doubt me, do 2 things.

    1--check the udaras results
2--ask b mansfield if he was happy with the vote he got in an rinn in the locals.

Deep Throat has to be the biggest troll to use this forum. I have lost count at the amount of misleading and childish posts he has started on the issue of SF in Waterford and David Cullinane in particular. It is interesting that after starting his typical threats with opinion dressed up as fact he sits back and waits for a reaction. Pretty sad really given that Deep Throat is a FG Councillor who should be using his time doing more productive things...

Given that I would take everything Deep Throat says with a pinch of salt.
