    Fine Gael Junket to Tipperary????

Clones Area Fine Gael Bigwig, Clr Hugh McElvaney was spotted in Nenagh Co Tipperary Today at a Sports Tourism event ,held in the towns local Abbey court hotel .Nothing surprising there you might say, execpt Perhaps the fact Nenagh is and depending on which road you take nearly 400 km or 240 miles round trip from Clones nice travel expenses there if you can get it. Anyway back to business ,know it seems the Clr had a problem with one of the Speakers .Non other than current FAI Chairperson John Delaney who was addressing the event .it seems Cl McElvaney was heard telling a Photographer that he hated soccer and to quote mCELVANEY what would i be listing to that fellow for,??.and there was me thinking he was thaking a stand against the insane Salary Delaney was receiving from the FAI .The Clr was then challanged by the Photographer as to what was he doing at the event if he was not going to listen to any of the speakers to which the good counciler replied ,and i love this part "THAT YOU CAN BE AT AN EVENT BUT NOT TAKE PART." you got to love him as he then went on to demand that the photographer then take his picture and put it in the Limerick Leader .when it was pointed out to Clr McElvaney that he wasn't in CO Limerick but county Tipperary he made a quick bee line for the door. .Good to see that whatever Fianna Fail can do Fine Gael can do better.

That was a very difficult post to read. What exactly is the point you're trying to make ?

You not expecting replies to this are you?

Did you want the event held in Clones to save expenses?
    Is that the point?

The words "junket" and "Tipperary" do not scan. Tipp is a hardship posting, like Lagos or Kabul.

If Clr McElvaney was representing the people of Monaghan at his own expense then this would not be story .the facts are that he will claim travel expenses and possibly overnight allowance .for what ?? A nice drive down to Tipperary as he was obviously not interested in what was going on at the conference .This is the sort of behaviour Fine Gael were banging on about for years. if you want change in politics then this type of junket must be ended .

So we'll ban him from travel outside his own parish. Happy now?
Good. There's a storm in a tea cup and then there's this saga.
    A very brief mild breeze.
