Continuing the depressing trend of dumbing-down in the once excellent Guardian, today they have an article by an attractive woman who apparently gave up having sex for a year in order to 'find herself', 'gain self-respect', 'avoid damaging relationships' etc etc
Needless to say, she's written a book about it.
The article is as cynical, narcissitic and self-regarding as you would expect. It's also extremely boring. Thankfully, the comments on the internet version are almost uniformly critical. Most of the readers saw the article and book for the desperate acts of self-promotion they are.
My year without sex, by Hephzibah Anderson | Life and style | The Guardian
I've really noticed a deterioration in the quality of journalism in the Guardian in the past few years. I think the tipping point is when they went to the smaller 'berliner' format. Before that, it was a serious, sober-minded broadsheet. After the shift it appeared to become more of a lifestyle journal, with articles about indie rock bands and lesbian pottery being given similar prominence to important news stories
