    Saw it!

Dimbleby is brilliant for stuff like that.

This episode is showing just what an uncorrupt democracy Britain really is. An Italian, French or Irish parliamentarian wouldn't last 5 minutes in their system. The Brits are crap at political corruption.

I agree with Stephen Fry: "...it's a tedious bourgeois obsession with whether or not they paid for their wisteria...a journalistic made-up frenzy".

I think that as somebody has already pointed out that Stephen Fry has a conviction for fraud.

In Britain many politicians and ex-politicians get to sit on company boards and get a nice little "earner" on the back of their political connections and influence.

It is debatable as to whether this is corruption and that is up to the individual.
I certainly believe that it is in some cases(probably most cases).

FFS, he was a minor (a very troubled one) at the time he committed credit card fraud, and it was about a year after he had attempted suicide. Given he served his time, and most would say he has more than made up for it in his contribution to society, I think his right to comment exists. Or should he just spend the rest of his life living in a box somewhere?

Just saw that, nice that some things about Britain haven't left the 1970s...Wish they'd given the job to Paxman though, would be way better (plus probably good panels too)...
