Terry Prone rips off Irish Times article?

Was she drawing influence from Elaine Byrne's article in last Tuesday's Irish Times on the same topic inspired by the same research?

Rip off might be too strong a word but it is definitely on the same theme, one might have expected some acknowledgement of the IT article. There again I've banged on for ages here and elsewhere that we need to have less priestly intercession type politics and be more protestant like but not with anything to back up that idea. It's really a general theme not IP as such.

The idea of a link between Catholicism and an implicit indifference to corruption has been kicked around a long time.

I've read both articles, and it also briefly featured in a book I recently read, Luck and the Irish, (Foster).

I'd say it's a coincidence, although there is no doubt Irish hackdom is a cloistered world, they do feed off one another.
