TV3 Scraps The Political Party with Ursula Halligan

TV3 announced announced on Monday it had cancelled Sports Tonight and let 12 staff go, it has now been confirmed that Ursula Halligan's The Political Party will also be cancelled.

The show was until recently recorded on Sunday mornings, until it was moved to a Friday evening slot, where it was recorded around 7pm and broadcast at 11pm (where Vincent Brown's show is Mon-Thurs).

Good. No loss. She was crap. I remember she interviewed Bertie Ahern and it was a breeze for him.

    She's no Vincent.

A bad show, but she had improved it hugely over the years.

I actually enjoyed the Friday evening slot

I thought she was poor myself. All about giving a silly, over the top sensational question and letting them rant in defence.

"Aren't you just mugglnig old people".. cue 5 minute rant....

Maybe not the best programme around but it was TV3's only current affairs programme outside of Vinnie B. It was good for a laugh on occasions. The one I remember best was the one with Graham Geraghty and John O'Leary prior to the election.

I quite enjoyed it - and I was giving kudos to TV3 for having current affairs five nights a week.

The slot was all wrong for a political show but I watched it on the website every week.

I would imagine that some in TV3 are feeling a lot of animosity towards Vincent Browne at the moment.

Her interview with FF's Mary White was a highlight.

I'd nearly forgotten about that - to YouTube!
