    Threat Against Radio Station

A rather agitated caller to a radio show today announced that if antisemitic statements (condemning the Zionist war on Palestinian civilians) didn't stop, the radio station would be in trouble. I only caught the tail end of this in the car and I don't even know the station - any updates?

Someone you don't know the name of, called a radio staion you don't know the name of to complain about comments on a programme that you weren't listening to. Brilliant, try again!

Try again? If you take a look you'll see it's posed as a query, just in case someone did hear the show and has the context - wouldn't want to jump to conclusions, would we?

Radio stations get crank callers every day. Some bloke from Irish Palestine support group went through a whole interview last week refusing to use the word "rockets" or "missiles" in relation to the Hamas rockets. He insisted they be called "flying objects"!!

That may have been News Talk Lunchtime Show but that was a couple of text messages. Those texts came in on foot of a telephone interview with a Hamas official. They were read out near the end of the programme.

Well I can report that it wasn't on 'Voice of the People, a radio station operated by the leftist Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), in Gaza City as it was closed by Hamas on 2 August 2008.
