    media & shares

Will O’Reilly move on Independent?: ThePost.ie

Came across this. INM, at the height of the O'Brien & O'Reilly wars in May 2007...."IN&M’s shares are currently trading at around €3.65, valuing the company at €2.8 billion."

In July 2008: "Shares in INM were trading at €1.91 at the time of the agm in mid-June. Last Wednesday they fell to a new 12-month low of €1.17. During the day they actually hit €1.11. At that price the market capitalisation of the company fell below €1 billion."

Today they are at <http://www.digitallook.com/cgi-bin/dlmedia/security.cgi?csi=12390&username=netpep&ac=8019701> €.53....

Two of our most famous billionaires have taken a bath on this as the shares are 1/6th of what they were 18 months ago! What now for INM and is this why the Sindo have been so aggressive lately?

well theres no love lost there and im pretty sure obrien is more interested in the clout he'd aquire in taking over IN&M than the share price.

it is funny to think now is probably the best time for him to go for it. that definently would explain why the indo would be tarring and feathering dennis at every opertunity and the board is absolutly terrified of him, i seem to remember sir antos son coming out with some particularly vitriolic invective againts him, even going so far to publish private letters sent by him. TBH though i havent seen that much of it lately.

could the lads in the S/INDO be worried about upsetting the new boss ? tony wont be there forever

Not sure if O' Brien has the €€€ resources these days - his wealth must have taken a right hammering in the past year or so.

Oh yeah, it's all good and well for the Billionaires. What about other people who lost money? ME for example.
Every one sees what you appear to be, few really know what you are, and those few dare not oppose themselves to the opinion of the many, who have the majesty of the state to defend them.
