Gerry Ryan to Present This Week's Late Late Show

I don't know if many of you saw this mornings Irish Examiner but one story that has caught my eye is one that appeared on the front page which states that Gerry Ryan is to present this week's Late Late Show.

Pat Kenny's mother died yesterday, and my sympathies go out to Pat and his family on their sad loss.

However, I think that Gerry Ryan isn't a wise choice to present the Late Late Show.

I feel that RTE should have gone for someone like Derek Davis or Marty Whelan to fill in for Pat Kenny this week.

taste of things to come methinks.

christ the late late is bad enough as it is without this twat taking over the reigns, no matter how temporaraly.

RTE, once again, shows its completly bankrupt in terms of talent and ideas. theres PLENTY of TG4 totty that'd kill for a shot like this yet we get stuck with the biggest egotistical ************************* in the RTE stable.

honestly does anyone thing this'll be anything other than a complete trainwreck?

Disgraceful, but what more do you expect from RTE? They always go for tabloid trash ahead of decent programming

Maybe Gerry Ryan will interview himself for the whole show? Then maybe (if there's time) he can have slots to discuss the usual serious current affairs topics from his radio show:

    - Women's breasts
    - Sex, sex and more sex
    - Marital infidelity
    - Online dating
    - Brenda Donoghue reporting live, with a gaggle of excited women in the background

He'll most likely take this golden opportunity to plug his forthcoming autobiography.

I serioulsy doubt the studio will be big enough to accomodate his rather sizeable ego.

maybe he'll shock us all and address the disturbing fact that RTE's latest billboard PR campaign, sans the dialogue, looks like an add for "help the aged"

What a joke. I read a review of his book and it said he praised Haughey, the building developers and of course Bertie Ahern. Eoghan Harris, needless to say highlighted Ryan's support of Ahern in his weekly comic relief column in the Sindo. Classic Rte, absolutely not a hint of creativity in finding an up and coming star who they could push. Instead they get the bully who rang up complaining to the RTE Guide's editor because his book only got 2 stars out of 5 in it's review of it!

As if anyone needed another reason not to tune into the late late... Go down the pub instead people it's much better for the mental health than watching that ********************e.
