Why are there so many crap Aussie programs always on rte?

Ok so look on rte1 and rte2 now.
Whats on? crap Aussie programs on both channels.

Turn on telly anytime during the day. Whats on?
Home and Away, Neighbours, some crappy program in an Aussie hospital, some other pile of ************************e based in Dingo Creek or somewhere.

Whats this obsession rte have with crap Aussie programs?

T.A.T. TRULY AWFUL TELEVISION and Australians are better at it than most but the UK comes a close second. I have never really seen why they are attractive to an Irish audience yet we eat up their stupid story lines and seriously wooden acting. The story lines revolve around a small amount of characters too so the fireman usually puts out fires in his own house etc.
The Thornbirds and their pronunciation of DROGEDA rather than Drogheda annoyed the life out of me.
Over all this TV makes Australians look like cultureless swine. I have issues with New Worlders from any where though so it might be just me.

Australians biggest export must be rubbish tv programs. I can't think of a single program i like from that country, yet our screens are saturated with them the whole time. They must be really cheap is the only reason i can think of that rte keep buying them in.

Imagine - if you can - how bad Australian TV is.
They've got their own homegrown nonsense, plus they import endless US cop-show nonsense.

Cos RTÉ usually only produce ************************e unfortunately. It is easier to buy in the pre-made Aussie crap.

How dare you take Home and Away/ Neighbours name in vain!! These are solid shows with storylines of great depth and magnificent acting.

    Shame on all of you.

Rte are dedicated to high standard public service programming, that's why we pay the TV licence.

Well I can't see Sewende Laan giving Home and Away a run for it's money. And sure what else would RTE have on at these times? They can't make ALL their own programs. Imagine if they did; RTE News, That tit Brian Ormond and Fair City 24-7?! We'd all have to leave the country.
