The lower middle class yobs who live in South Dublin should note his accent.

It has replaced (yet was largely influenced by) moribund D4 English (often known as "Dublin 4" or "DART speak" or, mockingly, "Dortspeak"), which originated around the 1970s from Dubliners who rejected traditional notions of Irishness, regarding themselves as more trendy and sophisticated;[27] however, particular aspects of the D4 accent became quickly noticed and ridiculed as sounding affected, causing these features to fall out of fashion by the 1990s.[28]

Shaw writes his plays for the ages, the ages between five and twelve. (George J. Nathan)

Artists are nutters. Anyone who takes their thoughts on politics seriously shouldn’t be let out of the house.

Ah Amsterdumb-still reporting posts? This thread might require you to actually know what you're talking about so maybe best give it a wide berth. It'll be easier on you in the long run

I dunno supporting the genocide of the poor and the disabled was always an extreme view no matter how far back you go.

When humanity discovered evolution they still believed in the fallacy of perfection brought over from religion. The combination of the two led to eugenics.

I didn't know all this about Shaw, now that i do i think the RTE program which celebrated the man was not a good thing. Celebrate the work if you want.

Don't remember the luvvies giving the same wide berth to Francis Stuart for his perceived Nazi sympathies during WW2. Byrne tells us his abiding sense when he thinks of Shaw the man is one of compassion, humanity and courage. I suspect the slaughtered millions would beg to differ.

YAWN, but seriously though is Shaw all that relevant in this decade for a documentary like this to be made?
