This is a great initiative and long overdue. The water campaign has shown that the news media are clearly under the control of the corporate interests.

I am again reminded of the view of Tomás Mac Giolla who said: “There is of course freedom of the press in Ireland, if you own a press.”

A lot of the positive change in Ireland was pushed by good journalism. Magill, Hibernia, Hot Press and some newspapers saw themselves as challenging the establishment. Those journalists would have vomited listening to Newstalk's reactionary simpletons.

Facts are facts no matter where they come from.
A man was interviewed by gardaí today after he admitted kicking a dog in a playground in front of several small children.

An unmuzzled rottweiler entered a playground today and went to attack a child but was subdued by a man with a well-aimed kick to the head.

Whats their approach going to be. Argue against levies and taxes imposed by this government while then arguing in favour of increasing taxes massively when/if they are to get in to power to fund services like water.

However it would appear the establishment won.
