Maybe Dave might be interested in the job?
Then again, any guest on the LLS might be banned from the show for life if they did not directly answer the question they were asked!![]()

[quote=David Cochrane]Dunny, despite your rather tame attempts at making a comment on this thread (or any thread to be frank) talking about the presenter of a chat show of official state television is not for here. Sorry.[/quote:2vxhy8a5]Originally Posted by "David Cochrane":2vxhy8a5
David, I can see by your posts above that this topic "doesn't float you boat", why not move this thread to another forum such as the following:

Chat
General chat and the place for stuff that doesnt fit anywhere else.
I do feel that this is a worthwhile topic too continue discussion on. In my humble opinion, a number of recent topics that you should have put a stop too, were allowed to continue without censure. But as I say that is only my opinion.
I know that as Admin of this site it is a difficult task striking the balance in allowing various topics on the forum. I know this at first hand as I act as Admin on a discussion forum myself, I hasten to add nothing to with politics.
So can you let this one continue?
Given the contribution of Harris on the LLS in May, it has far more political influence than this (or any other) websirte.Originally Posted by David Cochrane

Given the impact that Late Late Show has had on Irish society, and given that the presenter of said show takes the lead in the discussions aired, I think speculation about who the next presenter will be is as relevant to the Irish political landscape as is speculation about who the next councillor to change party affiliation is.Originally Posted by David Cochrane
The LLS has become less socially relevant in recent years, and while some of this is attributable to changing media, the main factor has been the change in presenter.
Good riddance.
i tend to agree with this as it illustrates the civil servent mentality of RTE. you "do" your time to get the job. god forbit you have actual tallent which is why we export our best singers and entertainers and are left with the drivel we've come to expect. in regards to the merit if this thread as mentioned the LLS does have the biggest viewership on RTE and i woudnt underestimate the political clout it has with its demographic. i dont know about the eoghan harris thing but it defenitly had some effect.
its worth remembering by 2050 over a third of the population will be over 65 and they traditionally make up one of the biggest voting blocks in elections. the late late could actually increase its political clout in years to come so who presents it and the ethos it pushes could be very pertinent in the years to come.
personally if i was to choose someone i'd nick your man that does big brother in the uk (dermot o leary i think?). he actually seems pleasent and is good at working on the fly during interviews. christ knows the LLS needs some energy injected into it.
