Willie O'Dea's Sat Nav Politics ?

In his article in this week’s Sunday Indo it would seem that Willie O’Dea is not best pleased with the ‘coming of age of political discussion forums’ otherwise know in Willie’s world as ‘Virtual/Sat Nav politics.’ (unable to find a link as yet)

Now could it be that FG posters, in particular on PIE, have gone and upset Willie by daring to express an opinion on such a forum.

Another scoop for the Sunday Indo!!!

Where once party workers went out to put posters on poles, they now go online to post incessantly about polls. While both elected and aspiring politicians have known the benefits of having good websites this year saw the coming of age of the political blogs and discussion forums.

Though looking at the vitriol dripping from some topic threads on these sites, the last thing they can be called is “discussions”. I’m only surprised that there wasn’t an epidemic of computers corroding, if not imploding, with the volume of scorn and bile seeping through the screens over the past year.

Though apparatchiks from all parties have been active on line, a quick trawl through the political icons used by the posters shows Fine Gael have been among the most active online. If they put as much energy into knocking on doors and meeting real people as they did into their virtual/”Sat Nav” politics, following trends rather than leading them, they might have avoided some of their dafter moments in 2007’

Kathy, of course O,Dea hates it, he cannot apply his trademark interupting/talk all over you no matter what technique to a blog unless he just copies/pastes and hits send every 5 seconds .

I never heard a decent argument from him or a plan of action and he is always giving advice?

God I hate that buffoon. All he does in his column, and it's become that, is throw childish jibes.

As regards 'Sat/Nav Politics', well it's always a good idea to accuse someone else of an undesirable trait of you're own so that when they come back with 'No that's what you are', they seem unoriginal and unconvincing. The evidence of FF's reactionary politics is all around us with our appaling infrastructure in our countries. It's laughable that they'd have the audacity to throw this insult.

Anyway, just in case you're reading this Willie, instead of spending more time on your ministerial brief and trying to change your position as the laughing stock of the country, let it be stated for the record that you sir are an embodiment of everything wrong with politics in Ireland today and I'd say that regardless of which side of the fence I fell.

And if you ever fancy stepping out, I'm there!
But, are you happy? Support 'Mozalini's Law'

Willie o'Dea - our very own Nostradmus!

"The second myth is that the Nice Treaty will mean mass immigration from the new EU member countries in Eastern Europe. This is probably the most odious of the myths propagated by some in the "No" campaign."
[Minister Willie O'Dea, Sunday Independent, Summer 2002].

Well that's true. Back in May there was pretty much an inverse relationship between the amount of hot air expended by blueshirt posters on this site, and their party's poll figures. Keyboard warriors.

Even O' Cuív said that the last two polls were very serious for FF.

The irony is thst Willie's column never rises above the type of partizan bickering he complains about on this site but, to be fair to him, this was funny and well observed:

I think what he means there is "following trends instead of leading them", like a person with sat-nav who doesn't know where they are but can only do what the computer says.
