Why is there a need for correspondents at all on RTE? You know, business, weather, sports, and so on. Are the main anchors not capable of reading the script?

It's not as if any of the correspondents are asked any probing questions in air. Just reading it out.

    Waste of money.

Thank you YesSireeeBob, The MC Grapevine is powerful.

Will the News presenters still be standing with a piece of paper in their hand like on BBC and Channel four? They just look silly. Get them sat down again!

With regard to that, I have noticed that the Angelus has been broadcast at one minute to six over the past few weeks. This means that Six-One starts slightly earlier than the title of the programme says.

Watched the 6,00pm RTE News. A lot better!

Always liked the Radio Athlone introduction when living in the UK decades ago.

More of that tune please RTE!

I think Tony Connolly and Ingrid Miley are good.

    Liz Nolan good on lyric.

you do have to wonder about their competence too.

sean whelan for instance, is only business correspondant cause geoge lee fecked off. theres a bit of a difference between being a european correspondant and a business one but i dont remember him sodding off to do a course in it or anything.

i reckon theyve got as good a grasp on these things as your average gov minister does. (so a wiki and reuters search before hand )

If anyone from RTÉ is reading, can ye please change the pre-news scenes of a woman looking under a bed, hill walkers and cave explorers. Very old now.
