Bryan Dobson's dismissal of bondholder-payment protesters as "idiots"

Why was Bryan Dobson so touchy just now on RTÉ's 6.1 News?

During his interview with Ronan Lyons (who was standing across the street from Government Buildings), a couple of protesters arrived and stood behind Mr. Lyons.

The protesters remained silent, but one was holding a placard that said: "Burn the bonds, not the billions".

Mr. Dobson described the protesters as "a couple of idiots" and promptly called a halt to the interview.

    Why "idiots"?
Because they object to billions of € being handed over to bondholders?
Because they took advantage of a live news broadcast to stage a silent and, to my eyes, respectful protest?

Has Mr. Dobson ever dismissed politicians, developers, bankers ... as "idiots" when he had them in his sights?

I found his reaction truly extraordinary ... and somewhat bizarre!

Is it possible that they were making noise that Dobbo could hear but that his microphone wasn't picking up?

    He said Dobbo, not Doggo.

There's no sense to most of those "live from Govt buildings" or "live from the Four Courts" reports. Just some poor sap hanging around in the cold to give the impression it's some breaking news.

Ronan Lyons, the bubble cheerleader Ronan Lyons? And the protestors were the idiots? Says all we need to know about RTE. Dobson is also the guy who did not laugh out loud when Bertie pulled his crying stunt. Maybe Dobson is the real idiot.

    No they stood absolutely quietly.

Dobson has a history of being a lickspittle for the establishment. His most nauseating performance was allowing Ahern his crocodile tears after he abandoned his wife and daughters for another woman and hid his assets from his wife to stop her getting her rightful amount of maintenance.

Calling the guy an 'idiot' was completely out of order. It's a legitimate point to protest about. But maybe RTÉ don't like having the property porn segment ruined by reality.

I presume the FG/"labour" Minister for propaganda would have Dobson shot at dawn if RTE/Pravda were not pumping out their usual lies for the government

Seeing someone protest against the Dear Leaders live on TV would be a capital offence!

Not much pro-Dobson sentiment on Twitter:

I saw that, we were all shocked by it.

Cements the point that RTE news is far from impartial, and is basically pro-establishment crap.
