The protesters remained silent, but one was holding a placard that said: "Burn the bonds, not the billions".

Mr. Dobson described the protesters as "a couple of idiots" and promptly called a halt to the interview.

    Why "idiots"?
Because they object to billions of € being handed over to bondholders?
Because they took advantage of a live news broadcast to stage a silent and, to my eyes, respectful protest?

Has Mr. Dobson ever dismissed politicians, developers, bankers ... as "idiots" when he had them in his sights?

I found his reaction truly extraordinary ... and somewhat bizarre!
Have to say i was really surprised at this , not that he cut short the interview [ no need to do that either ] but his insulting manner to the people involved. They might be idiots but it's not his job to decide that.

In fairness, we are all idiots. We pay Dobbo and Co 160 Euros per year for that fuuuuuking license fee.

Cements the point that RTE news is far from impartial, and is basically pro-establishment crap.
RTE keeps getting branded as a center left broadcaster, this couldn't be farther than the truth. I remember Leo Varadkar referred to it as having a "liberal bias".
