Where were they when something useful could have been done?

Because they object to billions of € being handed over to bondholders?
The bondholders invested their money in AAA rated investments. They are pension funds, insurance companies, credit unions, etc.

They were repaid their money many years ago, and the banks got the money to fund the repayment from the ECB whenever they couldn't get it anywhere else. Why is that a problem?

I found his reaction truly extraordinary ... and somewhat bizarre!
I dunno. If some clowns turned up with Gilmore For Taoiseach signs I'm sure he'd have the same reaction.

When you think about the constant crowd of true idiots that surround every politician whenever they are interviewed, either deliberately trying to intimidate the interviewer or trying to get their face on the box to raise their profile.
These protesters have a legitimate reason to be there, were very respectful and were in a public place being recorded by the national station they (over)pay for.
An apology should be forthcoming from Dobson, seriously.

Brian needs to take Bryan aside for a refresher course in Media Coaching..

"Dobson was accused of a conflict of interest when it was reported that he had provided some training for senior local authority officials in answering questions in the media, although the controversy was somewhat defused when Dobson expressed regret for what was viewed as a misjudgment."

Ye've all got the wrong man, BTW; he's Bryan Dobson.

Someone should tell Dobson that 'idiots' have as much right as anybody else to be upset that they are on the hook for billions squandered by the crooks, shysters and Bertie Ahern.

I assume Dobson still has the Bertie Interview still plastered on his CV.

    Complete rubbish!
    It's not always cold.
    From last July's heatwave:

More seriously, I assumed it was a programme director/editor who made the decision to stop the interview, possibly referring to "idiots".
