Syria :Western Media lies and the decline of truthful , unbiased Journalism.

I have been annoyed lately about the bull that is been spouted about Syria and it seems this is a prime example of the decline of truth and independence within Irish and western print/broadcast media.

Today we have cries of how could Russia and China veto the UN security council resolution.

    Here's why.

Most of this Syrian uprising is based on bull dreamt up in London,Qatar,Washington and Riyadh. It is being depicted as a suffering people being downtrodden by a criminal Government, while there is some criminal acts being carried out by both groups ,I would like to point out that everyone watching the events over the last year is being treated like a idiot by our western media.

The western media is reporting only what activist groups (or some one else) are telling them to. When one considers that these activist groups are mostly based in London and staffed by anti Assad regime members so reporting these stories as "non verified" is basically admitting that this could be all bull.

But don't take my word for it , Here is the Arab league Observer mission report that has been buried since its realease .

and here's a good indepedent journalistic view from a real reporter.

Asia Times Online :: Exposed: The Arab agenda in Syria

This thread is just about the mis/non reporting of the truth in an independent non-biased way and I feel is an example of Lies and bull we're being fed everyday about everything.

How can these Journalists sleep at night and have many any principles at all?.

The current consensus between the Saudi predominated Gulf Co-operation Council, and the US predominated NATO is driving the agenda here.

China, India and Russia all have differing levels of scepticism concerning these moves.

Civilians were killed last year in Bahrain protesting democracy. Instead of Saudi funding to buy arms to undermine the regime (as occurs in Syria) they got Saudi bulltes. The West is not looking for a regime change in Bahrain - which happens to be the naval and air base for the US military in the Middle East.

This is all about installing client states, and being the hired thugs of the Saudi aristocracy.

If it's naive to think that we should believe the story as told by the Arab League/US/EU it's no less naive to think that Russia and China are supporting the regime out of something more noble than self-interest.

RTE showed footage earlier which they said was the regime's forces shelling houses of innocent civilians.

Do we have good reasons to think that this didn't happen?

This is all very interesting but why go to all the trouble to pick out Sryia for this " This thread is just about the miss/non reporting of the truth in an independent non-biased way and I feel is an example of Lies and bull we're being fed everyday about everything". All you have to do is read The Irish Independent or Sunday Independent or look at RTE and you will get all the examples you want in spades.

By the way I think your other statements setting out your thread would need a lot more backing than you provided so I am glad you are not inviting us to talk about that aspect.

NATO is, probably, running death squads in Syria; because Assad is not doing what they say he's doing so NATO has to organise it for him to make it look like he's doing what they say he's doing.

I envy you now, sorry I asked. Although now that I think of it I have a bottle of Tawny Port, also Lidls best, in the boot of my car. This could be an interesting night after all Tawdy.

Well it seems to be undisputed that Syria is a dictatorship, and that people are fighting to overthrow the government. I will always support those put their lives on the line to overthrow dictatorships, regardless of how rose-tinted the reporting on them is.
