Something needs to change if the social media is to break into the serious game.

Can you see chat rooms having paid professional journalists and editors etc on the pay roll?

If not it will continue to an interesting, useful but ultimately limited medium for gathering information.
I could, yes. Either that or chatrooms which employ professional researchers and let the posters interpret the research presented.

Yeah. Quinn might want to get his own firm's house in order first.

No point in moaning about online bloggers, when his own councillor in Donegal is behaving like an eijjet.
Dublin, Europe's most supportive tourist destination for Peados, thanks to no electronic passport swipe in Dublin Airport. Ireland always facilitates child molestors.

    Very silly statement by Quinn.

    Calls to mind King Canute.

I've been on the internet since 1995. Since 1997 sites like boards.ie soc.culture.irish etc have been criticising our useless politicians, especially the governmment. Quinn has only copped on now? Anything to do with one government fupp up after another, by any chance? Feeling the heat much, Mr. Quinn?

The Mahon Tribunal found Olivia Mitchell to have received an inappropriate payment from Frank Dunlop at the time of the 1992 Election. F.G. Gael has taken no action against her.

Remember downloading on dial up? That was bad... but so satisfying when you actually got a movie over the phone line.

They really don't. Now you know they are hiding plenty from us

I also think Ruairi Quinn is more of a danger to Ruairi Quinn. I reckon UoL undergrads are just soaking up his heavy handed view of the world

An awfully stupid comment... if nothing else it shows him to be woefully out of touch.
    A poster of some consequence...

I'm guessing it's like the Clegg situation. The junior partner gets to come off with the silly stuff

Politics.ie has been my full time job for two years, it's been paying me a small wage for the past year. I have an NUJ card and am fully recognised as an actual journalist (despite not being able to write, or spell, but only difference there is that I don't have a sub-editor to fix my copy).

I find comments by Quinn to be quite unsettling, I'd say a few eyebrows are being raised in internet companies in Ireland this morning.
