    Evening Herald under Garda Investigation

Reports on the Radio (Newstalk) this lunchtime indicate that the Evening Herald has been notified that it (management) is under Garda investigation over information leakage to that newspaper.
News Editor Stephen Rea on to say he will not be co-operating with the investigation. Given the number of ex-cops he employs from time to time, we can expect that he will box clever, maybe even very clever on this one.
    Time will tell.

    Bang on.

Its seems the Gardai are incapable of producing any sort of report/charges on Anglo, the banks, politicians that took cash but can, have plenty of time to investigate a paper that published a story.

You beat me to it Benny. Disgraceful carry-on. The top level of Garda management has been compromised for a long time anyway. Too much political interference. Same goes for our medjaa.

Expect this to be fully reported on compared to Anglo.

+1. And they used McCarthy's Bord Snip report last year to grab even more power!

So 100% of Garda resources should be devoted to investigating what went on in Anglo?

Did he say 100% should be devoted? I don't see it anywhere. Another pointless question from you.

Considering the gardai won't recruit anyone over the age of 35, I doubt they have many people with the forensic accounting skills or experience of management to investigate what happened in Anglo anyway.

Silly ban. For offences like fraud, insider trading etc., there would be no better investigator than somebody who has been there, but decided to get out.

There are a few economics experts around here who would advocate 150%

Yes. That would avoid all the need for a tribunal in the future. Simply prosecute on multiple cases of fraud and misrepresentation by management and directors.

That should be enough to start bringing out the truth about banks, solicitors, auditors, govt and developers.

Unfortunately in this Kip there is no will and there is no way it will happen
